Happy dance. I met David Coulthard

Many who attended the Top Gear Festival in Jozi have had their rant about the event; that it was too expensive, the show too short, the rain halted everything etc.. Well, I had a completely different experience and LOVED every moment of it.

I was lucky enough to be invited to the Friends of Red Bull area (aka the pit area in Kyalami refurbished with drinks, sofas, music and basically Red Bull-erised). I ended up rubbing shoulders with David Coulthard, Jeremy Clarkson (he really is a giant), James May, The Stig and Jeannie D. So I use the term meeting them quite loosely. More like I was able to mumble a few words and gush and blush to no extent.

One thing that I was able to do though was have a decent encounter with David Coulthard. I was able to ask him questions, talk to his (stunning) wife while feeling like I was the most important thing to both of them. - That, takes some talent, or at least years of practice to achieve.

Either way, I did not experience a single bit of the Top Gear show - but was able to walk in the pit area (and on the track), meet some fantastic people, hang out in the Red Bull area and listen to great tunes.

Hearing the pit crew rev the engine of their F1 car
Chatting to David Coulthard (swoon)
Seeing the The Stig (air punch)

Some might see this me bragging. Well I probably am, I did in fact meet an F1 legend.
