My List of the Best Burgers in Johannesburg
It's only fair that I update my Best Burgers in Johannesburg list. So here it goes:
- Still at no. 1 it's JB's Corner Cheese & Barbeque burger - a blend of chuck, rump and rib-eye steak with a vinegary barbeque basting make this burger still my number one. http://www.jbscorner.co.za
- No. 2 is a new entry, the rather bizarrely named Life at Hyde Park Corner, a similar burger blend to JB's on a massive Ciabbata bun with stringy french fries. http://www.lifeinteriordesign.com/
- Dukes Burgers in Greenside recently updated their menu with the fokken fantasties fokofpolisiekar burger - it's a spicy prego burger which includes a rump steak topped with bacon - amazing. Dukes is on Gleneagles Road, in Greenside Johannesburg
- Salvation Cafe's Gourmet burger is perfect for those tired of the traditional burger, it's topped with sweet-milk cheese, bacon, and guacamole - it's a more "complex" burger but it's so more-ish that I managed to finish the whole thing. http://www.salvationcafe.co.za
- Nandos it pains me to say it, but sometimes one has to think about one's health before taste, but at Nandos its a win-win. Their chicken burgers, ordered mild with a side of spicy potato wedges is the perfect anecdote to a bad day and as they're available on most of the major routes home in Jozi you're bound to have a Nandos available on your commute. http://www.nandos.co.za
